What is Microfiber?
Microfiber is a manufactured fiber that is smaller than one denier. A single strand of silk is considered 1 denier. So microfiber is smaller and lighter than silk. This unique property allows it to be woven into an intricate net-like structure that makes it extremely absorbent and breathable.
Did You Know?
- Microfiber towels can be used almost anywhere that you would use paper towels.
- Microfiber towels can absorb seven times their weight in water!
- Because of microfibers’ net-like structure, it is more effective than cotton at removing bacteria from surfaces.
5 Steps We Use and Suggest to Wash Microfiber Towels 👇
1. Make sure your towels are sorted before you begin. Microfiber towels should be washed alone as a separate load. If you have any other fiber types included, especially cotton, you will have a linty mess!
2. Use dye and scent-free detergent to clean the microfiber towels. We really like this one from Tide
3. Wash on normal with hot water
4. Never use fabric softener or bleach. This can permanently damage microfiber towels.
5. For drying you can air dry or dry them in the dryer with a NO heat setting. Heat can also permanently damage microfiber towels.

Pro Tip! Microfiber towels come in a wide assortment of vibrant colors. To prevent cross-contamination from different uses in the home, use a specific microfiber color for specific jobs and areas. For example, in the bathroom: Red for toilets. Blue for countertops, Green for dusting, and Yellow for floors. (Of course, you can use whatever color you prefer!)
