As a professional janitor who comes from a long line of janitors, I have tried a lot of cleaning supplies. While many cleaning solutions are effective, some go above and beyond the call of duty by being useful on multiple surfaces and messes. These are the ones I usually recommend.
I have many favorite cleaning solutions and tools that I am not talking about in this blog, but likely will at a later time. 1. Hoover SmartWash Pet
What’s a good at-home carpet cleaning machine? The Hoover SmartWash Pet is my favorite wet vacuum cleaner, even for my own home. I recommend treating your carpets to a deep cleaning on a regular basis, every three months would be ideal. This is one of my favorite products because it’s very easy to use. It has a little detachable arm so you can spray specific spots.

2. Drill Brush
Cordless drills aren’t just for construction and woodworking! This drill brush can be used on almost any surface by trading out the soft bristles and hard bristles depending on the project. Ready to cut down on the amount of time and energy it takes to clean the bathroom sinks, shower pans, ceramic tiles, grout lines, couch cushions, and more?

3. Pump Up Sprayer
A pump-up sprayer has fewer uses than, let’s say a microfiber cloth, but it makes a big difference where it canbe used. It’s especially useful for deep cleaning carpets because it allows the soap to work into the fibers before you suck it up and rinse the carpet. This allows for deeper cleanings and even better fresh scent at the end.

4. Microfiber Cloths
I use a microfiber towel in most of my cleaning endeavors. And I have great instructions for how to get your microfiber cleaning cloths nice and clean in the washing machine.

5. Grandi Groomer Carpet Rake
I believe it’s my civic responsibility to tell people about the Grandi Groomer and to warn them about how truly addicting this tool is! I like using it before vacuuming to pick up hair and loosen dirt and then after vacuuming or deep cleaning to fluff the carpet fibers. This is especially useful as a pet hair remover.
